These are the last 3 Music Videos I edited for the songs Right Now, Freeloader and Don’t Go After Me which I made using public domain films. I also did a Trailer for The Game using an AI generated voice-over and uploaded my short films, trailers, adverts, etc to various platforms in HD 1080 quality.

Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner

I thought I’d show off my Kitchen Sink Drama collection on VHS video tape which I collected when I was a film fanatic in my teens and early 20’s. These films were part of the British New Wave of Cinema between 1959-63 and were gritty drama’s set in the working class towns of Northern England. They’re actually much better films than the one’s made in the more celebrated French New Wave from the same period but don’t get the same recognition. They were critically acclaimed films winning lots of awards and launched the careers of some famous names such as Albert Finney, Richard Harris, Julie Christie, Tom Courtenay and Alan Bates.
The reason I posted this is because one of these films, The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner was sampled in one of my songs, an instrumental track called Take A Little Longer and I might do a music video for it using the film. The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner isn’t in the public domain so the video will get a copywrite strike and won’t be viewable on Youtube, but it should be ok on my other channels.
I might do this video next but before that I’m going to binge watch these films.

This sounds like a love song, but I don’t think it is. I’ve turned it into a love song for the video though. The 2 actors in the video are Lizabeth Scott and Van Heflin, although Barbara Stanwyck and Kirk Douglas (in his film debut) are the main stars of the movie. It’s up on Rumble in HD, Brighteon and Bitchute.
Don’t Go After Me
set to The Strange Love Of Martha Ivers

6th Feb
I’m re-uploading my music videos in HD starting with the 2 new ones, then the rest. They sound better in 1080p. I’m going to make a few alterations to a couple of them. This one’s also up on Rumble, Brighteon and Bitchute.
Freeloader
set to Kansas City Confidential

THE GAME IN HD
This is the best quality version for sound and picture (1080p). Youtube version has a copywrite strike and is partially blocked in some territories for the Miles Davis music (beginning and end sections). But it’s up on Rumble (this version) and Brighteon.

THE GAME TRAILER
I made a Trailer for The Game using an AI generated voice-over which sounds great. I used the Teaser I previously made for The Game and completely re-edited it. The result is much better.
It’s blocked for copywrite on Youtube (for the Miles Davis track), this is the version from Rumble, it’s also up on Brighteon and Bitchute. All in HD.
I’ll upload The Game in 1080p HD next. Here’s the poster I made for the trailer.

THE RIVERS UPDATE
I’ve updated my Rivers music page. I’ve removed the music player from the side bar and put it at the bottom, it looks a lot better now. I’ll do some proper album art for it all and figure out the song running order when I’ve done the videos. My new song demo is at the bottom too, I’ll record it properly at some point. I’m called Black Flames!

Always Get By – String Arrangement (set to guitar):

Music videos for Freeloader and Don’t Go After Me will be uploaded soon but I’m uploading my short films first in 1080p HD quality. After years on re-editing them I finally figured out how to get them looking good with clear picture and sound. I’ve put Torquemada up with the Trailer and I’ll put the others up next.
The 1080p HD’s are on Youtube and Rumble.

TORQUEMADA UPDATE
This is a new trailer for Torquemada (IE: Winston’s dream) which I’ll be re-uploading soon in 1080p HD quality.
I’ve fixed some editing errors and added a few reaction shots in Torquemada plus re-timed some dialogue on a couple of scenes. The sound and picture quality is now at the maximum quality available.
I’ll be re-uploading all my other short films again too, this time in 1080p HD. I’ve got the picture quality looking far better now than the previous versions and want to present the films looking and sounding as good as possible. Full size HD videos are on Youtube and Rumble. Brighteon (6GB max) and Bitchute (2GB max) have smaller file sizes on a few of the videos.
Once I’ve uploaded all the stuff in HD I’ll upload the next 2 music videos.

THE SILENT DAGGER UPDATE
I’ve re-uploaded The Silent Dagger on all my video channels with the best possible picture quality. The previous one wasn’t the best. I’ve removed the older versions. I’ll be uploading Torquemada, the Trailer and Fit For A King and maybe some other videos I made onto Brighteon and Bitchute.

Right Now
set to The Big Combo (1955)

Copywrited on Youtube for a section in the middle?? The film is in the public domain, it has no copywrite. This happened with Dream On too for The Man With The Golden Arm. Not that it matters I’m shadow banned on Youtube, and Twitter too. It’s also up on Rumble, Bitchute and Brighteon.

NEW MUSIC VIDEOS
I’ve Archived my The Game re-edit blog posts from 2024 so I can start a fresh page.
I’m now working on Part 3 of my The Rivers Music Videos.
I’ve completed 3 new videos which I’ll upload soon, they are for Right Now, Freeloader and Don’t Go After Me. These are among the best ones I’ve done so far, I’m pretty pleased with them. I managed to find the right films visually and thematically to match the songs. I got about half way through another one (The Things I Say) but got stuck so took a break from it last year. I’ll try and finish that one off next. There’s 3 (maybe 4) more to do after that to complete my music video project then I’m going to put them all together into one big visual video / music album.
The latest films I used are all Film Noirs from the Public Domain:
The Big Combo (1955) for Right Now, which I did in slow motion, Kansas City Confidential (1952) for Freeloader, a Heist flick, and The Strange Love Of Martha Ivers (1946) which has some dialogue at the start for the intro.
I’ll upload them over the next few days.

.

.
I’ve completed 10 videos now, the previous 7 are in Part 1 and Part 2 in Archives. All the films I used for the videos are in the Public Domain and free of copywrite.
