I made three short films as a student in 1995-96 while on a media course in Wrexham, North Wales. It wasn’t a film course but they had some video cameras and an editing suite so I decided to make some films. The first two were Thrillers and the third one was a Fantasy film. They were all shot on video tape with a hand held camera.

The first one is called The Game starring some friends I made on the course. They’d never acted before and this was my first attempt at film making. It’s about a group of thieves who hide out at an abandoned house after a robbery.
This is the re-edited colour version from 2024, it’s 4 minutes longer than the original.

THE SILENT DAGGER (1996)

The second film was shot outdoors in the winter with the same cast. All the footage came out green so I had to do the original edit in black and white. It was re-edited in 2022 after I managed to fix the colour on VSDC. I also re-structured the film giving it a new beginning and end, a new title and a new soundtrack.
It’s about an artist who witnesses a murder.

TORQUEMADA (1996)
.
The third film was a collaboration with Nick who was an illustrator / painter. We got some drama students involved with acting experience including Nick’s brother Damian who plays the lead role. I re-edited this film in 2022 with a new soundtrack and sound effects. I also re-structured the third act to give it a better ending.
It’s about a kid who gets possessed by the Devil and an Angel is sent down to save him.
